August Astrology
I speak on a friends’ radio show each week and give a brief summary of the Astrology for the week ahead. I am still learning all about astrology and I think the study of Astrology is so vast it could keep people busy for several lifetimes. I also call myself an Astrology Broker wrt to my weekly forecast, because I do look at what other astrologers are saying about the week ahead, mainly because it is a responsibility to be speaking about a subject that I am still learning, so I want help compiling an accurate report, within my own busy time constraints.
Two interesting phrases from Austin Coppick regarding the August Astrology in The Astrology Podcast for August 2024:
“ There will be a show, and there will be shit”
And
“If you have lots of mutable in your chart, nail your feet to the deck”
There is talk in Astrological circles that there will be more drama for Trump around 15/16 August because it is linked with his chart, maybe some miscommunication, a slip up, drama and friction.
Mr Beast, the You-tube influencer is getting into trouble for orchestrating literal shit shows, getting people to do shitty things in the name of entertainment. Saturn is stationing on his Jupiter right now.
Our own birth charts give us extra information about how transits affect us personally.
Soooo, why such warnings? I’ll highlight 4 main astrological events which are happening this month:
Mercury Retrograde
Mercury retrograde started on Monday 5th August and will last until Wednesday 28th August , with the shadow period being felt until the 11th September. Mercury retrograde (which means it appears to move backward), happens 3 times a year and it is a time for us to do the ‘re’ things, ie : reflect, renew, redo, rediscover, rewrite, etc and we are advised not to sign any important contracts or to get married during these phases.
The areas of our life to do the ‘re-‘ stuff in depends on which part of the sky Mercury is moving through. At the moment Mercury is in Virgo and will go back into Leo territory on Thursday 15th August , then dance back into Virgo on 9th September. So Mercury in Virgo challenges are likely to be everyday things: household things, paperwork, communication, your own mind. All things being a bit disorganised and asking for you to reset, review and re-organise things in this time. It’s time to go inward and reflect more than usual. Virgo is also linked to health, so if you get ill remember to focus on your own health and what you need to re-visit in your day to day routines to improve our health.
The song ‘it’s your own damn fault, you’re so damn fat” was a perfect Mercury Retrograde in Virgo song, which someone sent me on the day Mercury went retrograde in Virgo.

From August 15th, when Mercury travels into Leo’s area, Mercury is asking us to stand in our own power, maybe re-do something in terms of standing up for ourselves. Highlighting where we feel disempowered. Maybe there will be more rioting- if this is people showing themselves in a Leo ‘look at me’ way. But retrogrades ask us to reflect internally, so the warning would be to re-think getting involved in protests especially until Mercury turns direct, or at least to ensure your internal world and external world are both wanting to protest. Ignoring our internal responses during Mercury retrograde is where we can trip ourselves up.
The main delays expected for travel during Mercury retrogrades are when Mercury stations direct, from August 22nd- 31st.
Mars conjunct Jupiter in Gemini direct on Wednesday 14th August, but will be felt from 9th
Mars is the God of war, energy, going fast , getting things started .
Jupiter or Zeus is the head of the Gods and likes to succeed and make everyone happy with big celebrations.
Mars Jupiter key words:
Bombastic, triumphant , like Charlie Sheens’ phrase: “winning here, winning there”.
Celebration and enthusiastic.
Mars is linked to War, Jupiter is linked to Peace
Expansion of conflict.
Jupiter brings enthusiasm for martial things
In history: death of Osama bin Laden was on the same day as a Mars Jupiter conjunction in Aries
In 2013, the Edward Snowden leaks were revealed on a Mars Jupiter conjunction.
An example of someone with this aspect in their birth chart is Tom Brady, who is a hugely successful American footballer. With all things Martial, which can cause us to be concerned about conflict, it is wise to use the mars energy for moving our body , maybe going for a walk , a run, participating in Martial arts or American football!!
Mars square Saturn on Friday 16th August
Mars the God of war and trying to move fast is now being slowed down by Saturn the god of time and structure and responsibilities and boundaries.
Mars Saturn key words:
“hitting the brakes and gas at the same time”
Advice is not to don’t stop, but don’t just batter your way through, go when you can go and stop when you have to stop, be strategic. Be careful about pushing past your limits, physical and otherwise, so you don’t get hurt by overly Martial acts.
The Mars Saturn aspects in past year was linked to the submarine disaster and the bridge collapse in the US. Mars is now in an air sign, Saturn is still in water sign, so there maybe transportation problems, Maybe more shipping problems. Possible hurricanes with air and water coming together in a destructive force.
In History on Mars Saturn squares: Obama gave his farewell speech, the assassination of leader of Iraq happened, in 2022 it hit on the day of the assassination of the Japanese prime-minister.
The Mars Saturn story is a 20 year story, which started with a conjunction between the two on December 2020. This is quarter time of this energy- the world has changed a lot since 2020, things are rolling on to half time in 5 year and full time in 15 years. The seeds planted in 2020 will ripen and bear fruit. It is like a moon cycle of 20 years. Seeds were planted in 2020, this is the waxing phase to really tend to what you want to grow over the next 20 years. The world has certainly been a challenging time since 2020, but look at what you have gained since then. Look at what you would like for your future and the future of the planet. We are certainly in very difficult times, but also in very exciting times where the power of our thoughts and intentions can be almost tangibly felt.
