New Moon in Sagittarius Manifestations
On Tuesday 12th December at 11.30pm (UK) there was a new Moon in Sagittarius. A new Moon is when the Moon and the Sun are conjunct.

A new Moon is when the Moon is an empty vessel, ready to be filled with your wants for the month ahead. This is known as a wish list or manifestations. The word “manifestation” is the Greek word phanerōsis, (#5321 φανέρωσις), and it means, “to cause something to be fully known by revealing clearly and in some detail – ‘to make known, to make plain, to reveal, to bring to the light, to disclose, revelation.
The 48 hours after the new Moon is the perfect time to write down a list of what it is that you want to be fully known, to be revealed. Manifestation has become a popular word, but be careful what you wish for and how you word your desires. As George Bernard Shaw wrote “Be careful to get what you like or you will be forced to like what you get.” I have listened to various people advising how to write new Moon manifestations and the main points are to focus on one area of your life: eg: Health, Finances, Relationships and then write down between 3 and 10 sentences revealing in detail what you would like in these areas of your life.
If you need more inspiration, Nathaniel Branden has a method where you finish sentence stems, with as many or as few words as you like. For example:
- If I am more accepting of my excitement…
- If I deny and disown my excitement…
- If I am more accepting of my intelligence…
- If I deny and disown my intelligence…
These could be adapted into manifestations linked with the Sagittarius Moon. Sagittarius’s linked to authenticity, desire for emotional freedom, higher knowledge as well as long distance travel, (both in mind and in physical reality).
A Sagittarius motto could be “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth over doing”.
Mercury Retrograde
On Wednesday 13th December at 7.30am (UK) Mercury Retrograde began in Capricorn, this is an opportunity to review things to regain long term stability. Capricorn is linked to order, discipline, productivity, status and finances. The Retrograde has 3 parts, the shadow part from November 25th to December 13th; this period can give you an idea what to expect during the retrograde, with respect to thinking, communication or transport issues. The retrograde section from December 13th until January 1st can be challenging but also an opportunity to take things slower and review plans and rethink ideas especially linked to long term financial stability; and then the second shadow period from January 1st until January 20th where hopefully some of the issues that came to light at the start of the retrograde start ironing themselves out.
Adding to this Mercury Retrograde-there is a fixed star Facies, from the Latin facere: to make or do something , often linked to accidents due to careless actions. When this fixed star is alongside Mercury, as it is at the moment, this is connected to Violence and Assassinations.
I invite you to review this time and find out how the retrograde effects you. It will depend on your individual birth chart.
